Nature Play SA is once again proud to be the not-for-profit partner for Outdoor Classroom Day Australia!

We are on a mission to change the world and give children back their childhood!  We are strong advocates for children spending time outdoors and in nature, every day, for their mental and physical health and wellbeing. When you take learning outside the classroom it engages and excites children in spectacular ways, and we would love for you to join the movement and help us take learning and play outdoors, every day!

What is Outdoor Classroom Day?

More than just one day, our aim is to get as many children as possible playing and learning outside, every day, with a celebration of outdoor learning and play on  November 2nd, 2023.

Outdoor Classroom Day is something that can happen every day, and we want to continue celebrating being in the outdoors, in whatever way we can, every day, right up to the 2 November date, and beyond!

Through play, we will help children retain their connection to the natural world during the coronavirus crisis.

Love the Outdoors

The theme of this year’s Outdoor Classroom Day is Love the Outdoors!

Children are spending less time outdoors than ever before and this is affecting their health, wellbeing and love of the natural world.  Time outdoors makes children happier and healthier, as well as helping them form habits that will stick with them for life.  They’ll have a love of the natural world and will take action to protect it.

Join the Movement!

It’s easy to get involved and there is something everyone can do!

If you’re new to outdoor learning, why not use Outdoor Classroom Day to try it out? Or, if you’re already involved in outdoor learning, use the day to celebrate what you do and inspire other teachers around the world to join in.

Every fortnight we’ll be sharing ways to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day based on the COVID-19 situation in your state or territory.  You’ll discover ideas and inspiration to help children Love the Outdoors in whatever way is right for you, and learn how to be part of the movement for more time outdoors every day.
