THE COAST

 

For many the ocean brings a sense of calm, beauty and freedom. Watching the sunset as it fills the sky with an array of colour; walking barefoot along the shoreline and feeling the salty breeze on your face; and hearing the sound of waves crash and recede are feelings that evoke relief, escape and a sense of calmness that our minds need particularly in challenging times. The National Parks and Wildlife Service SA website features up-to-date information on camping, park closures, fire ban season, park maps, recommended walks, lookouts and other handy hints for visitors. You can also learn a lot about parks through their Good Living Blog – a family friendly blog full of interesting things to see, learn and do. In addition they have resources for ‘Junior Rangers’ ideal for children from 8 to 14 years of age that guides children through journaling activities aimed at building a stronger connection to nature. And to take things ever further you can identify what you marine life you encounter through their Beachcombing guide and Snorkellers guide.
