Cubby Town: by the creek

The magic of Nature Play SA's major Cubby Town event has been packaged into an intimate family cubby building adventure in Belair National Park! Discover our special creek-side cubby space, beautiful bell tents for reading and loose parts play, create a eucalypt mask, spot local wildlife, and play to your wild heart’s content!

Cost: $18 child / $5 adult (+ booking fees). National Park entry is covered with your ticket.

The Nature of Play

Hosted By: South Australian Youth Arts

Participants work with professional theatre makers to plan, create and perform a piece of theatre in a natural setting. The natural environment will inform and be the only resource for the story, props, setting, characters, costuming and soundscape of the performance. The workshop will run for 3 hours finishing with a public performance. Children will meet new friends, make meaningful connections to nature, create a culture of play, purpose, value and expression and develop problem solving and communication skills. Participants' friends and family are encouraged to bring a picnic to share after the show!

Cost: Pay what you can on the day for the activity (but MUST enroll!). For Park entry costs please refer to environment.sa.gov.au (guests who hold a relevant Parks Pass are not required to pay vehicle entry fees and free entry is also available by foot or bike).

Bikes, Bugs & Bush Exploring

Hosted By: DEWNR - Natural Resources Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges

Come to Belair National Park for a great day out at Playford Lake! Bring your bike along to ride with a Ranger or wear your wellies to go hunting for waterbugs in the lake. Take a guided walk to explore the bush with a Ranger and learn about fascinating flora and fauna from one of our local experts. If you manage to still have energy after all that excitement make sure you test your skills with the Junior Ranger Challenge! Free entry for the day so bring along the whole family and pack a picnic lunch.
