Discovering the Birds of the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary
Hosted By: Friends of Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary, in partnership with the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board.
Join us for two special activities! Learn about our migratory and resident shorebirds and watch them feeding in the waters off St Kilda in the 'Bird Identification' activity. Scopes and binoculars will be set up for children to view and identify the birds. A team of enthusiastic guides will be available to encourage, educate and nurture an understanding and appreciation of the wonders of nature that can be found in this special area. In the 'The Flock: Let’s keep the shorebirds coming' activity, children can help spread the word about our amazing shorebirds by painting a wooden shorebird to add to the Flock Adelaide. Their bird will join the rest of the Flock as it continues to “fly” between different events around the region, raising community awareness about the threats facing our shorebirds. Then complete some additional shorebird crafts to take home!
