Nature Play at Port Lincoln

Hosted By: Kirton Point Children's Centre

Regular contact with nature has so many benefits for children – physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually – and it’s also vital that we help our children learn to know and love the natural world so they grow up caring deeply for it. Studies have shown that childhood participation with nature has a significant direct effect on adult environmental behaviours. This includes increased positive attitudes toward plants and trees, knowledge of biodiversity and interest in conservation.
As well as nurturing those all-important bonds with nature, spending regular time as a family sharing nature based experiences creates a foundation for building strong and meaningful family bonds, creating cherished childhood memories and helps to give children strong foundations for learning and life.
This event will give families an opportunity to explore local nature spaces, in a guided, supported way.
