Yankalilla Community Children’s Centre Nature Play at the Show

Enjoy a nature play with Yankalilla Community Children's Centre at the Yankalilla Agricultural Show! Free interactive experiences for children include a natural loose parts play area, nature jewellery making, and bird feeding stations to encourage native wildlife at home. Parents can gather nature play inspiration from displays showcasing our experiences at our Centre, including a mud kitchen, moat, teepees, and campfire and cooking ideas in nature.

Target Audience: 16 months to beyond

The Nature of Play

Hosted By: South Australian Youth Arts

Participants work with professional theatre makers to plan, create and perform a piece of theatre in a natural setting. The natural environment will inform and be the only resource for the story, props, setting, characters, costuming and soundscape of the performance. The workshop will run for 3 hours finishing with a public performance. Children will meet new friends, make meaningful connections to nature, create a culture of play, purpose, value and expression and develop problem solving and communication skills. Participants' friends and family are encouraged to bring a picnic to share after the show!

Cost: Pay what you can on the day for the activity (but MUST enroll!). For Park entry costs please refer to environment.sa.gov.au (guests who hold a relevant Parks Pass are not required to pay vehicle entry fees and free entry is also available by foot or bike).

Target Audience: 5-15 year olds

Where: Belair National Park, Upper Sturt Road Belair (event in Adventure Playground area)
