Abe is the Manager of Education for Nature Play SA and manages a team of highly skilled Educators who facilitate nature play programs in schools and natural environments across South Australia. Previously, Abe spent 16 years in the classroom as an HPE and upper primary teacher for the Department for Education and he has taught in Tasmania and Canada. He has a passion for purpose-based, experiential learning and student agency. He has written extensively about his experiences with progressive education, including ungrading, student self-reporting, and co-designed curriculum design.
Abe grew up in rural Tasmania in the late ’80s when it was still commonplace for children to play from sunup to sundown.
