With over 15 years’ experience in educational leadership, system change, and trauma-aware practice, he has led state-wide initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, engagement, and learning outcomes for children and young people facing significant health and mental health challenges.
Matthew has worked across education, health, and community sectors to redesign support systems for vulnerable learners, including major partnerships with SA Health, CAMHS, regional services, and specialist providers. He is deeply committed to child-centred practice and ensuring every young person feels safe, connected, and able to thrive.
Matthew believes access to nature-rich play and learning is fundamental to mental health, belonging and recovery. As a Nature Play SA Board Member, he brings expertise in governance, strategy, and cross-agency collaboration, along with a passion for creating environments where young people can heal, explore, and grow.
