Designed specifically for Centre Directors and Educational Leaders, this professional learning workshop provides an opportunity to network with peers, share ideas and plan for the year ahead. Together, we’ll explore practical strategies for leading nature play across your service, strengthening documentation and planning, engaging staff and families in your vision, and supporting children’s transition to school through meaningful nature-based learning. Leave with practical tools, fresh ideas and valuable connections to confidently embed nature play across your whole service.

Step into a day of inspiration, connection and hands-on learning. Stage 2 – Playful Nature Pedagogies is an in-person workshop that builds educators’ knowledge, confidence and practical skills to bring nature play to life in early years settings.

Through presentations, practical workshops, creative experiences and reflection, explore how nature play supports cognitive development, positive dispositions, learning and wellbeing, alongside perspectives on connection to Country and place.

The program provides:

• Insights into cognitive development through thinking, problem-solving, creativity and exploration
• Practical tools for designing provocations using puppets, narratives and natural materials to support emotional maturity
• Ideas for nature play environments that encourage curiosity, collaboration and child-led learning
• Opportunities to reflect on connection to Country, place and community, and how these perspectives can inform practice

Stage 1 Playful Nature Pedagogies

Step into a day of inspiration, connection and hands-on learning. Playful Nature Pedagogies is an in-person workshop that will give you the tools and confidence to bring nature play to life in your service. The program features a combination of presentations, hands-on workshops and reflections, with input from Aboriginal leaders and educators. Supporting resources for further reflection and guidance are also provided.

The program is designed to provide:

• fresh insights into how children grow emotionally
• practical ways to shape play-rich environments
• tools to nurture friendships and social skills
• playful strategies to boost communication and connection
