Nature Play SA and Preventive Health SA present
Neighbourhood Nature O'Sullivan Beach
Neighbourhood Nature is a pilot project delivered by Nature Play SA in O’Sullivan Beach, supported by Preventive Health SA.
Through a community-designed nature trail, school partnerships and local activations, the project encourages physical activity, strengthens social connections and fosters deeper connections to nature and Kaurna culture.
The trail guides visitors through eight themes – playful, adventurous, curious, creative, mindful, social and resilience – each linked to a local bird that embodies these qualities. Along the way, visitors can learn about local wildlife, native plants, Kaurna language and the cultural significance of local bird species.
The trail experience is enriched by videos featuring artwork and narration created by students from Southern Montessori School and O’Sullivan Beach Primary School, as well as Kaurna Educator and Consultant, Drew Kudnuitya Kilner, who brings cultural stories and perspectives to life.
